TouchDesigner: Vive Meets Kinect
I have had fun playing with the HTC Vive while I've been borrowing it from Ohio University GRID lab. But I hate not having a body. I also hate the idea of wearing a bunch more stuff. So I decided to experiment with piping both the Vive and Kinect into TouchDesigner and using Kinect to create a body and the Vive for the VR.
It works okay. Lining up the Kinect in the 3D space is difficult. If I were to try this again, I might actually play with what I'm referencing for depth space either in the vive or the Kinect by creating a Constant CHOP linking to different parameters of each. We'll see in future installments.
