TouchDesigner: Literal Blob Tracking

In my ongoing efforts to do cheap webcam body tracking, I kept running into a wall using blob tracking in the dark due to the lack of colors. I tried attaching a colorful LED light to me, but that stopped working the minute projection was introduced, and i can't imagine forcing every person viewing it to wear an LED light. Then I realized, duh I'm the darkness and the projection is the light.

 

This is a test using a webcam and chroma key to key out lighter value then blob tracking using Alpha setting from my body blocking the rear projector's light.

 

I thought it would be super funny to do blob tracking and have an actual blob tracking me. I'm meta as all get up.

 

The project is below, but note, you need a projector in order to do this project. The blob detection is based on the silhouette made via projecting onto a screen.  Then you use a webcam pointed at the screen, with the body between to create the blob.
