Alexa Skill: Analyze My Stool

Yup, I made an Alexa Skill to help analyze your stool that is available free of charge on  Amazon. It might be the most idiotic Alexa skill made to date.

Part of my goal with this project is to gain a better understanding  the creation of Alexa skills in order to help facilitate the mixing of different forms of tech into interactive projects. My friend Trip and I are working on ideas that involve Alexa enabled devices as part of interactive theatre. He has the JavaScript/Alexa skills, I have the TouchDesigner skills. I really wanted to learn enough of his side of things to help clear up tech references and to begin understanding what can and can't be done through  Alexa. I'm excited for this collaboration to continue.

 

I have to give a shout out to my friend Hope Moore who created the below tutorial for making an Alexa Skill. She found that most the tutorials out there were overly complex and didn't really explain things well. She was right. I spent an entire day trying to figure this out before I remembered she had made a tutorial. Hers is by far the best out there (better than on the Amazon developer site even).  Check her site out and check out her tutorial if you're interested in screwing around with Alexa (in a non-gross way sickos).
