TouchDesigner: Speech Recognition
This is a first attempt at integrating speech recognition into TouchDesigner for me. I'm using a third party app called Remote Mouse which makes your phone into a wireless mouse and keyboard connected to your computer. It's a pretty nifty little input and I will probably attempt to find other uses for it too.
Nonetheless, it can use the phone's native speech recognition as a keyboard input, and with that linked to the Keyboard In CHOP in TouchDesigner, I was able to link it to a text field via Python. I can then convert it into a table and pull out individual words to trigger different events.
It's a sloppy Alexa sort of thing I got going on. If you are interested, please check out the TouchDesigner asset I included below. I'd love to see if people can come up with a better way. This moves a little slow with the input.
