TouchDesigner: Generative Gamer
After an exhausting day of entering content into a website for the previous project (I now remember why I dislike web design) I needed to get my play on. So I started adapting a piece of generative media from my push button (an project that predates 100interactive) to be much MUCH more interactive by way of hooking elements up to a game controller.
I really enjoyed this one more than I should admit. Or perhaps the exact amount that should be admitted. I super enjoyed connecting the GUI to the buttons to show what was on and off. And figuring out the best way to utilize the different kinds of controls on the generic Xbox 360 controller was super great.
For those Touchers out there who have a game controller they can plug in to their computer, the .tox component file is below. You may need to do a little selecting out your buttons to hook into the correct networks, but there are notes throughout the project file that will tell you where to do it.
